Hope so. Liverpool and Man U's title odds would have been slashed then.

According to Mirror sport, will be used in PL next season

I hope the rules will be simple, and not contain the words "except when a revised decision would benefit West Ham", as appeared to be the case with the League Cup.

The crowd has got to start to get stuck in to refs who refuse VAR when it’s needed.

Re: VAR to be used next season
Video assistant referees (VAR) is set to be used in the Premier League next season, after the clubs agreed in principal to the move.

At a shareholders' meeting today, clubs were provided with an update on this season's VAR trials.

The Premier League will now make a formal request to the International Football Association Board and Fifa to use VAR next season.

I dreaded it at the WC. I was proved wrong.

If we are going to have it, it needs to be exactly like that.

That will probably half the transfer fee Palace will get for Zaha.

Re: VAR to be used next season
I suspect that the hangers-on to the game (Media companies, sponsors, betting companies & the like) will be the main beneficiaries of VAR.

The game itself will be left generally unaffected.

I'm waiting for the so called top 6 to be thrown out of the PL and their players out of the WC & European Championships if they continue with this breakaway European League.

You watch them try crawling back, people will get bored of the same European rubbish every week

The PL is just going to become even more like an arm of Showbiz. This has been largely driven by the TV companies. It doesn't improve the game as a spectacle in any way whatsoever and there will still be whiney fans that take issue with the VAR decisions.

Re: VAR to be used next season
Would say it's a shame it's just for goals, penalties and red cards, but there is so much play acting nowadays that if you done it for diving the games would be 4 hours long!

Can't be a bad thing if used correctly, though there were still some very odd decisions in the world cup with it.

Overall the good outweighed the bad.

Re: VAR to be used next season
There's going to be quite a few surprised football fans next season when there's going to be a load of questionable VAR calls with a load of delayed time while they sort it all out.

I'm not a fan.

Quick commercial while the review is ongoing, anybody?

Its ridiculous the time it takes when Sky can show an instant replay and see if a player was offside within 30 seconds, use that!!!

Leroy

i think we already are. I'd say 12 years ago i'd enjoy a CL game. Even another Chelsea v Liverpool QF 0-0. If on the road find a pub to watch it.

Now i'd rather read a book in the hotel/flat. Bored to fuck with it. I hope they break away and fuck off.

Re: VAR to be used next season
Yeah refs will be on the take to make as many VARS as they can to get a Carling ads in.

Asian businessmen will bet on the number of VARs in a game.

Ummm .;sounds like a plan.
